My translation focus, German to Swedish, lies in general sectors, as well as the eco-conscious Slow Living niche. This includes topics such as permaculture, gardening, textile crafts, and resource-efficient, eco-friendly house renovation and construction.
I offer expertise in navigating the Swedish language, with a range that spans academic and formal to literary and informal styles. By using CAT tools, I ensure accuracy and consistency while helping clients engage with Swedish audiences and contribute to sustainable growth.
I, as a native Swedish speaker, began translating in 2023 after completing translation training at The Translation Academy in Oslo (2023) and the Linnaeus University in Växjö (2024). After 25 years as a teacher in German and an entrepreneur in textile crafts, I develop my professional life further.
I have a deep interest in natural materials, sustainable living, and innovative eco-conscious architecture and renovation. In my free time, I enjoy immersing myself in books and getting lost in the stories brought to life on screen.

TRANSLATION SUBJECTS
Having previously worked in education and as an entrepreneur in textile design, my area of expertise spans several fields.
I am happy to assist with translations of texts in general areas such as:
Fields included in the Slow Living niche and knowledge after the Sustainable Building and Living education.
TRANSLATING SLOW LIVING
Carl Honoré describes the Slow Movement as follows:
"It is a cultural revolution against the notion that faster is always better. The Slow philosophy is not about doing everything at a snail’s pace. It’s about seeking to do everything at the right speed. Savouring the hours and minutes rather than just counting them. Doing everything as well as possible, instead of as fast as possible. It’s about quality over quantity in everything from work to food to parenting."
The Power of Slow
I embrace Slow Living within translation and enjoy working in fields that align with this ethos. Together, we contribute to a - sustainable - future.
WHY LYST FORM?
My business was named Lyst Form back when I primarily worked with textile design. The word “Lyst” is an older Swedish term found in phrases like “bara till lyst” (literally “just for beauty”), referring to something that exists solely to be beautiful.
For me, beautiful is respecting and valuing craftsmanship, materials, time, and sustainability on multiple levels. It’s about fewer products of higher quality, reduced environmental impact, and designs that are both unique and interesting. Above all, it’s about long-term thinking.
Craftsmanship and environmental awareness inherently embody this Slow philosophy. Translating in the area is simply an extension of that philosophy.
A text or a translation never exists in isolation; it always belongs to a context, a cultural framework. What context is your text written for, and which one do you want to reach with a translation?
I WANT TO HELP YOU GAIN NEW INSIGHTS AND REACH NEW MARKETS, INCREACE YOUR KNOWLEDGE, ENHANCE YOUR SERVICE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND ESTABLISH NEW CONNECTIONS.
A good translation ensures that it strikes the right tone and feels natural to the target audience. Languages are not mirror images of each other, just as societies and cultures are not identical. Your translation should flow naturally so that the recipient doesn’t perceive it as a translation.
This is why your text is not translated word-for-word but adapted to its new context. A clear example of this is proverbs and idioms, which may convey a similar meaning but, when translated literally, become nonsensical. Both proverbs below, for instance, express hitting the mark perfectly:
Similarly, other expressions may differ in how they are conveyed across languages. The translation often uses an equivalent that works in the new context. For instance, the English “the story so far” corresponds to the Swedish “detta har hänt” (this has happened).
In addition to context, the style and tone of your text are crucial, as is accurate terminology. The translation will reflect these elements, incorporating the vocabulary and terminology you prefer, including your company-specific vocabulary.
You only get one chance to make a great first impression, which is why it’s crucial for your text to be both easy to understand and error-free.
I HELP YOUR CONTENT CONNECT WITH YOUR AUDIENCE.
As an literary consultat/editor, I help you avoid potentially embarrassing mistakes in both content and text by ensuring your writing is logical, clear, and engaging. I provide advice on structure, language, and style, making slight adjustments to content and phrasing to sharpen your text. This typically occurs at an earlier stage in the writing process, before a publishing editor or proofreader gets involved and does not include the publishing process.
The goal of proofreading (without altering content, focusing solely on linguistic accuracy) is to deliver an error-free, professional text that reads smoothly and without distractions from linguistic mistakes. This is often the final step before publication or printing. During proofreading, the focus is on:
